So it was the Thursday before the event, I’ve never been to Langholm (not sure why, it’s a beautiful place) and get an email asking to see if I was free for the whole weekend… I was and with a few frantic emails, txts and some planning I got there!
Getting there on the Friday I had a chance to photograph the hill climb and get shown around the area, all of which was mostly within walking distance. I covered 10.39km’s just on Friday. Lot of midges :( lots of friendly people around here, maybe I should move here …
Saturday 14.38kms walked today, photographed the mountain biking near the monument, some midges up there and a hard but fast decent back down to the drop off. From there I moved to the trail running where the sun came out :) heading back there I went to the prize giving and then relaxed a bit.
On Saturday evening I went to see a show featuring the great Andy Kirkpatrick.
Sunday – Waking up about 7am. Cycling sportive for an hour trying to get a good few shots of the riders with the tower in the background. The a few shots around basecamp, off to the 5km trail run to get photos of everyone though there, back to basecamp for a while and then off up to the family mountain bike ride until they all came though, plenty of kids around having a lot of fun. Finishing off with Andy and Ella Kirkpatrick in the tent.
The pizza from Hadrians was amazing and Muse breakfast smells very nice! 13.91kms walked today.
- Thanks for coming at such short notice – the photos look great.
- Nice!
- Some crackin pics there!
