An early start for me at 5:38am, cycling to Oxenholme when the stars are out and morning hasn’t even started yet!
On the train I met Tim Farron, sounds like he does some astronomy himself. It’s going to be a long day for him.
With a relaxing couple of hours ahead of me I road through lancaster, took a good look at the Ashton Memorial with the stars, it’s nice there. Need to go back there some day soon. Walking up most of the hills to not get too hot. Getting to the top have found a good view if the sun was out it would be better, I’m sticking to my spot again this year. Although with more clothes on than last year as it’s colder!
Seen 26 at 9:15am, 64 at 9:30am, 76 at 9:46am, all gone by about 10:20am.
Now onto my second position for 44 riders. There are a few midges around! I’ve done 32.6km so far. It didn’t take long for the 44 to get past and then I went to the finish to catch the rest.
After the finish I road back home and finished off with a total of 68.2km. Feeling tired now, ready to setup for tomorrow at the Lancaster Trail Half.
