Lakes in a Day

Ultra Run – 11th October 2014 – Caldbeck to Cartmel

Over the past few months I’ve been getting ready for this event, cycling hundreds of kilometres, swimming and getting fitter than normal so I could take on the challenge.

On the day… With not a great sleep, I got out of bed about 5:30am. All packed and heading out the door at 6:00am for a trip north.

Its 9am, the clouds are looking pretty and I’m on my way to the blencathra accent!

It’s 10am and I have got half way up the cloud has come back :( so keeping low for maximum seeability. I headed up more but the cloud kept on coming, so in the end headed back to the river crossing for 12am.

I’ve headed back to the feed station, helping clear up after everyone had left. From there I headed to Ambleside to capture as many people as possible before needing to head back to the finish.

Heading up from the feed station to Low Brock Crags and to where the light was awesome again. When the light started to head behind the clouds was the time to come back down and head to the finish.
